The state of the health system is a major concern in the DRC. Infant and maternal mortality rates  are among the highest in the world, mainly due to the degradation of health services, limited f inancial resources of households and dysfunctions within hospitals (dilapidated infrastructure, lack of  equipment and personnel. The French Development Agency and the French operator CREDES associated with Médecins du Monde have signed a  funding agreement this Friday, May 15, 2020 for the Mother Child Health Program in peripheral urban areas  from Kinshasa.  The French Ambassador to the DRC, François Pujolas welcomed this convention which according to him illustrates  exemplary Franco-Congolese partnership on health issues and is fully part of the  roadmap on the fight against epidemics adopted last November in Paris, during the meeting between the  Presidents Tshisekedi and Macron.                                     Jean-Pièrre Bemba Gombo President of Mouvement de Libération du Congo "MLC" Pre-Trial Chamber II of the International Criminal Court “ICC” rendered its decision this May 18, 2020 on the claim for compensation and damages from Jean-Pierre Bemba.  Mr. Bemba was arrested in May 2008 following an ICC arrest warrant and was acquitted by the ICC Appeals Chamber on June 8, 2018. The Chamber noted that Mr. Bemba's claim had two components: a claim for compensation under article 85 (3) of the Rome Statute and a claim for damages linked to the alleged mismanagement by the Registry of the ICC assets frozen on the orders of the judges of the Court. Uvira, a city in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC ) Following heavy rains and floods in Uvira, a city in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), the European Commission has allocated EUR 180,000 (more than CFAF 350 million) in humanitarian funding to help households more victims. This EU funding will enable the DRC Red Cross to provide emergency aid to thousands of displaced families, whose homes have been badly damaged by the extremely heavy rain, which devastated the city in the month of April. These funds are an EU contribution to the Disaster Relief Emergency Fund (DREF) of the International Federation of Red Cross Societies and of the Red Crescent (FICR).
