  The President of the DRC, Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo and the President of Zambia, Hakainde Hichilema The Congolese and Zambian Heads of State had a one-on-one meeting followed by the signing of the Agreement between Zambia and the DRC relating to the value chain of electric and renewable batteries. Several speeches were made to this effect. In particular those, successively, of the Chancellor of the University of Zambia, the President of Manufacturing Industries, the Governor of the Central Bank of Zambia, the representative of Afriximbank for Southern Africa, the representative of Uneca, on the Zambian side , and the Minister of Industry Julien Paluku, on the DRC side. The events of the past two years have accelerated mergers & acquisitions trends in Africa, and 2022 is already witnessing increased deals activity. The continent has now positioned itself as a driver of oil & gas deals, with several transformational transactions already announced over the past six months.   The funds will enable the Africa Digital Financial Inclusion Facility to design and implement programs to improve digital access to finance for women entrepreneurs.  The Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative (We-Fi)  has announced a new round of funding under which the African Development Bank’s ( www.AfDB.org ) Africa Digital Financial Inclusion Facility (ADFI) will receive $15 million to develop and extend digital financial solutions to women-owned small and medium businesses in Cameroon, Egypt, Kenya, Mozambique and Nigeria. This fourth round of financing of $54.8 million will benefit almost 69,000 women entrepreneurs in developing economies with access to digital technology and finance. The funds will enable the Africa Digital Financial Inclusion Facility to design and implement programs to improve digital access to finance for women entrepreneurs, reducing the $42 billion financing gap,  and improving their operational efficiency to build back better following the COVID-19 cris
