Launch of The United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) Days in Africa

The hybrid launch event also reached a large online audience of professors, researchers and students from different African countries. The United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of Ghana and the European Union, has launched an initiative for UNCITRAL Days in Africa at an event in Accra. UNCITRAL Days are a series of events co-organized with institutions of higher learning to raise awareness of the work of UNCITRAL amongst the next generations of legal thinkers and policymakers, thereby furthering the work of UNCITRAL in promoting the progressive harmonization and modernization of international trade and commercial law. Africa well positioned to benefit from green hydrogen

  By Mark Venables and PJ Conroy   This month the world’s largest hydrogen fuelled mining trucks were unveiled in South Africa, marking a significant milestone in the continent’s shift towards renewable green energy. Mining giant, Anglo American, says the trucks can carry 315 tonnes of ore each, and will use power harnessed from a solar plant to extract hydrogen from water. Hydrogen does not emit climate-warming gases. The fourth day of the Africities summit started with the official opening of the political segment which was marked by a conversation between two former African heads of State namely, His Excellency Joaquim Chissano, former President of Mozambique and His Excellency Danny Faure former President of Seychelles. The main topic of the conversation was “Thriving the way for the future of Africa in a world of turmoil”.
