64 tonnes of medical protection and screening equipment on Congolese soil

The President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo Félix Tshisekedi met on Tuesday March 24 at the Cité de l'Union Africaine in Kinshasa with the Chinese ambassador to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ambassador Zhu Jing. On this occasion, the chinese diplomat has announced to the congolese head of state the arrival of 64 tonnes of medical protection and screening equipment on Congolese soil. According to the WHO, this aid initially intended for the fight against Ebola will be used for the treatment of patients with the new coronavirus in health facilities. The donation includes surgical gowns and masks, protective aprons and thermal imaging cameras. It should be also noted that, of the 7 new patients diagnosed, 5 had stayed in Europe, according to the Ministry of Public Health.
