After his official visit to Belgium, Felix Tshisekedi arrived early Sunday, September 22, 2019 in New York where he will attend the 74th ordinary session of the General Assembly of the United Nations
Accompanied by the first lady Denise Nyakeru, the head of state goes to Donald Trump's country for the second time as President of the Republic, after his first visit last March.
For his first participation, Felix Tshisekedi will make his very first speech on September 24th and he will participate in the climate action summit organized by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
Felix Tshisekedi arrived this Sunday, September 22 in New York where he will attend the 74th regular session of the UN General Assembly.
It should be noted that this is the second time Felix Tshisekedi has been to the United States of America as Head of State. The first time was in March of that year.
At the UN, the general debate of this session will take place from 24 to 30 September 2019. This will be the first time Felix Tshisekedi will take part in this work. Several high-level meetings will be held during the week of the general debate.
Particular emphasis will be placed on September 23 with the Climate Action Summit, organized by the UN Secretary-General António Guterres. The summit will be a milestone in international political cooperation and will bring broad-based support to the heart of the real economy. On the same day, a high-level meeting on universal health coverage will be held at the United Nations General Assembly.
