Former DRC President Joseph Kabila received on February 14, 2020, the United States Special Envoy for the Great Lakes region, John Peter Pham



According to the U.S. Embassy in the DRC, which announced the news, Félix Tshisekedi's predecessor and the U.S. Special Envoy for the Great Lakes region discussed how the two countries are advancing privileged partnership for peace in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
 
The first Congolese for life senator and the American diplomat have focused on the fight against corruption and the end of impunity.

The discussion between the 2 personalities was about how the American and Congolese government are advancing the privileged partnership for peace and prosperity, with a focus on fighting corruption and the end of impunity

This meeting came a few days after the meeting of Peter Pham with Martin Fayulu, former candidate of the Lamuka coalition for the presidential election of December 2018.

The president of the Commitment for Citizenship and Development (EciDé) had given the American diplomat his plan to end the crisis, which consists in particular of the reform of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI), of the Constitutional Court.

Long before, Peter Pham had also met with Head of State Felix Tshisekedi and Prime Minister Sylvestre Ilunga Ilunkamba.
