China firmly opposes the US side's decision to pass the so-called "Hong Kong Self-Government Law" and strongly condemns it, according to a statement released on Wednesday on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

China will take the necessary responses to protect its legitimate interests and impose sanctions on the personnel and concerned entities of the United States, the statement said. Xinjiang supply chain council of the United States is "grossly distorted" (spokesperson).

So-called Xinjiang supply chain business advice issued by several US departments is "a serious distortion of the facts," a ministry spokesman said on Tuesday.

The nature of the Xinjiang issues has nothing to do with the so-called "human rights problems" preached by the United States, but relates to the fight against terrorism and secession, said the spokesperson.

The United States Department of State and several other departments have put together this so-called advice to interfere in the internal affairs of China and to suppress Chinese enterprises under the banner of "human rights" through consultations and advice.

China firmly opposes it, the spokesman said. Referring to the gravity of the pandemic and the economic situation in the world, the spokesman said that the bad practice of the American administration hampered normal cooperation between the companies of the two countries, undermined the stability of global supply chains. , affected the recovery of the world economy and damaged the common interests of all parties. This is against the interests of China, the United States and the world, the spokesman said, urging the American side to stop the actions.

The Chinese side will adopt the necessary measures to firmly safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises, said the spokesman.
