Since 2012, the Democratic Republic of the Congo has initiated a process of reform and modernization of the public administration which, with the support of the World Bank, aims to improve performance of public administration in the DRC.

The French Ambassador to the DRC, François Pujolas, participated on Monday, October 12 in the ceremony of launch of the residential workshop on the overall review of the reform and modernization process of the Public Administration, in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of infrastructure, representing staff of the Prime Minister, the Minister of the Public Service, pilot of the modernization of the civil service, several members of the Congolese government and authorities, as well as representatives of technical and financial partners (World Bank, Agence Française de development and so fourth). 

During this week-long workshop, French expertise and financial support from the World Bank are used to contribute to reflection, take stock of the reform process and set new orientations. 

For its part, France supports the reform, modernization and rejuvenation of the administration Congolese public through on the one hand, the National School of Administration, symbol of the Franco-Congolese and elite establishment intended to train those in charge of the reform, and on the other hand, the provision of an International Technical Expert to the Ministry of the Function public. 

The French Ambassador to the DRC reaffirmed France’s commitment to providing its expertise in the ongoing reform process, in order to provide the DRC with a well-functioning public administration structured, competent and efficient.

"France is happy to be associated with this exercise, because the State reform is transversal and has a positive impact on all the priority sectors of our partnership (education, management, governance, security, environment, etc.) ", said the French Diplomat.
