The World Bank announces a package of 100 million dollars to support free education in DRC

The Director of World Bank operations in the DRC, Jean Christophe Carret announced a disbursement of $ 100 million in connection with the emergency project for Equity and the strengthening of the education system (PERSE).

This information was taken from correspondence addressed to the Minister of Primary, Secondary and Technical Education of the DRC, Tony Mwaba this Wednesday 26th May 2021.

According to the World Bank, this commitment follows evidence provided by the Congolese government in compliance with the withdrawal conditions announced in the financing agreement.

It must also be said that this sufficiently proves the success of the new orientations published by Professor Tony Mwaba at the head of this ministry. He had also shared them with Jean christophe Carret, whom he received 5 days before this announcement, in his office.

At the end of this exchange of May 21, the World Bank, through its director, had shown his availability and made a contribution to the edifice of free education in the DRC. He praised the “strong” leadership of the new minister in the recovery of the Epst sub-sector.
