This donation of equipment to the government of Burkina Faso follows the appeal launched by the Burkinabè authorities to Technical and Financial Partners for a strengthening of the health system in the face of the COVID-19 health crisis and the humanitarian crisis.
"This material will help meet the expectations of health authorities by improving the transport, evacuation and referral of patients in regions affected by the humanitarian crisis," said James Mugaju, Deputy Representative of UNICEF in Burkina Faso.
For His Excellency Mr. KATO Masaaki, Ambassador of Japan to Burkina Faso, the investment made available to health facilities in regions affected by the humanitarian crisis supports the government's efforts in strengthening the health system which is under pressure from a double crisis. "By improving the health system, we improve the quality of life of men and also their ability to produce for a growing, strong and resilient economy," he says.
Mr. Charlemagne Ouédraogo, Minister of Health, welcomed this donation, which strengthens the operational capacities of his ministry. He noted the rich experience with UNICEF and Japan, which are strategic and effective partners in responding to the dual health and humanitarian crisis.
