Cassien Tribunal Aungane a Congolese Journalist and Blogger has won 2 Awards of the Merck Foundation, Merck Foundation Africa Media Recognition Awards"Mask up with care" 2021 and Merck Foundation Africa Media Recognition Awards "More Than A Mother" 2021




This is the second time that Cassien wins the Media Recognition Awards of the Merck Foundation. For the last year 2021, Cassien Tribunal Aungane a Congolese Jouranlist and Blogger has won 2 Awards of the Merck Foundation Africa Media Recognition Awards "Mask up with care" 2021 and the Merck Foundation Africa Media Recognition Awards "More Than A Mother"  2021. This was announced during a VC Ceremony chaired by the CEO of Merck Foundation, Senator, Dr. Rasha Kelej during which all the winners have been awarded for covering issues related to themes of awards. 



All winners from african countries ( Southern African Countries, West African Countries, East African Countries, African French Speaking Countries, African Portuguese Speaking Countries) have been congratulated and received as alumni of the Merck Foundation for having showcased their work to raise awareness about one or more of the following social issues such as: Breaking Infertility Stigma, Supporting Girl Education, Women Empowerment, Ending Child Marriage, Ending FGM, and/ or Stopping GBV at all levels for Merck Foundation Africa Media Recognition Awards "More Than A Mother"  2021. 

Also, The Merck Foundation Africa Media Recognition Awards "Mask up with care" 2021 with the aims to raise awareness on how to adapt best protection measures such as wearing your masks to show they care and love their family & community; to encourage their community to choose to vaccinate when it is available and to sensitize them to support healthcare workers who are at the forefront of COVID 19 pandemic.

Senator, Dr. Rasha Kelej has also announced the Awards for 2022 and thanked all the winners who took their times to attend the online Awards Cerermony and has end up by providing to all winners the Masterclass which is an online prpgram in diverse fields to improve knowledge.

In 2020, Cassien Tribunal Aungane, a journalist and blogger from the Democratic Republic of the Congo was First at the 2020 Merck Foundation “Stay at Home” Media Recognition Awards for the DR Congo in the online category. 

Cassien has over 13 years of experience working as Journalist and Reporter, and working directly with communities focusing on humanitarian’s affairs, diplomacy, socials conditions, gender and gender based violence, empowerment and employment for young girls and men in the Democratic Republic of Congo. 

Cassien, holds a diploma of communication of organization, a diploma in journalism foreign policy in Kinshasa from Institut Facultaire des Sciences de l’Information et de la Communication, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. 

He has worked at the Media Group Business Radio Television Africa in Kinshasa from 2006 to 2015 as Journalist and Reporter at the Direction of the Information and Presenter of radio programs and news in the information.

He has started his work at press group “Brt Africa” where he was also the chief of at least 60 peoples working in the Press Group, as the personal assistant of the CEO of the press group named “BRT AFRICA” where he was always in the service of the peoples in order to make sure that the press group is well managed in different levels and to manage with different chiefs of departments to set all challenges and what should be done to create good conditions of working, growth and prosperity.



Cassien is also an active Journalist who has the radio blog named “Diplomacy & Development” where are raised issues about Diploamcy and Developement.

He is skilled in sciences of information, communication, journalism, marketing, public relation and English language. 

At Radio Télévision Puissance, he was also Presenter of programs and news, Kinshasa, DR. Congo Worked as Journalist at Radio Télé Puissance from 2002 to 2006.

And previously he spend months as Reporter, Presenter of programs and news in the information service of the Radio Malebo Broacasting Channel where he has worked as Reporter, Presenter of programs and news, Kinshasa, DR. Congo.

Cassien learnt english at the Congo American Language Institute,(CALI), in Kinshasa, DR. Congo and got the Certificate of Advanced Proficiency in English in 2013.

Cassien studied the Journalism at the Institut Facultaire des Sciences de l’Information et de la Communication (IFASIC), Kinshasa, and got the License in Communication of organizations in 2013.

And got after at the Institut Facultaire des Sciences de l’Information et de la Communication a License in JOURNALISM Foreign Policy.

He followed also a training in the American Embassy in Kinshasa about the Election Coverage Journalism in 2014, in Kinshasa, DR Congo.

He went to China for a Seminary on Chinese Media and Culture, in Beijing/China in 2017 and in Changsha/China in 2019.

He is Journalist and Reporter covering the activities about humanitarian affairs, policies, diplomacies, of agencies of United Nations (UNHCR, OCHA, UNICEF, MONUSCO, UNDP, WHO, WORLD BANK, UNESCO) and embassies of countries established in DRC; (France, Germany, United States of America, Netherlands, Great Britain, Spain, the United – States of America, Delegation of the European-Union in DRC. 

He holds a blog named " Diplomacy & Development" focusing on activities related to diplomacy and development.
