The President of the DR Congo, Félix Tshisekedi, who participates in the Extraordinary Summit of the SADC Troika in Gaberone, met face-to-face with his Botswanan counterpart, Mokgweetsi Éric Keabetswe, Friday, November 27, 2020. 

The two Chiefs of the State exchanged on the possibilities of developing bilateral issues of common interest between their countries. During the discussions, the President of Botswana reiterated his congratulations to his Congolese counterpart Félix Tshisekedi on his election as head of the African Union (AU) and promised to give him his full support.

"As the Kinshasa-Gaberone axis is in great demand, on both sides there is a desire to establish diplomatic representation between the two countries," reports the presidential press. 

Félix Tshisekedi participates in the Extraordinary Summit of the Troika of the Economic Community of Southern African States (SADC), Friday, November 27, 2020 in Gaberone (Botswana) where he arrived Thursday. He and his colleagues will examine the questions of terrorism in Mozambique and the DRC, including the question of the MONUSCO Force Intervention Brigade (FIB), called upon to take over from the UN troops, will be examined in the presence of the contributing countries troops (Malawi, South Africa, Tanzania, in particular) invited to this Summit.
