Presentation of the candidacies of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to the various posts of the Community of Central African States (CEAC).


The Minister of State, Minister of International Cooperation, Regional Integration and Francophonie, Guillaume Mandjolo informed the Council of Ministers meeting on Friday, February 14, about the presentation of the candidacies of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to the various posts of the Community of Central African States (CEAC).

Following this official annoucement at the governmental meeting, it was given the instruction by the Government to set up an ad hoc committee which will examine this question. It is chaired by the Prime Minister, Sylvestre Ilunga Ilunkamba.

This commission is composed of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Interior, Security and Customary Affairs, the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of State, Minister of International Cooperation and Regional Integration and Francophonie, Minister of State, Minister for Gender, Family and Children, the Minister of National Defense and Veterans Affairs and the Minister of Higher and University Education.

It should be noted that other states have also submitted their candidatures. This is done in accordance with the instructions of the IX th extraordinary session of the Conference of Heads of State of Central Africa (CEAC) held in Libreville, Gabon on December 18, 2019.

The Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) is an international organization created on October 18, 1983 for the economic, social and cultural development of Africa with a view to the establishment of regional structures which can gradually lead to a common Market. ECCAS was created out of the Lagos Action Plan of April 1980.

It is made up of the following states: Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Rwanda, Chad and Sao Tome and Principe.
