"La France en RD Congo", hosted the first edition of the Campus France student fair in Kinshasa

The French Institute of Kinshasa named "Institut Français de Kinshasa", a member of the France in DR Congo Network called "La France en RD Congo", hosted on Saturday 24 October 2020 the first edition of the Campus France student fair, in the presence of the Minister of Higher and University Education, Thomas LUHAKA, including the French Ambassador to the DRC, François PUJOLAS, as well as the sponsor of the France Alumni community, Professor Kodjo NDUKUMA. 

At few days left before the launch of the next Campus France campaign, this first edition of the fair was to promote the supplier industry sectors employment in the DRC, in particular through four round tables led by professionals from humanitarian, banking and insurance, medical and hotels and restaurants. In the strict respect for barrier gestures, the event welcomed, on pre-registration, more than 200 students Congolese willing to continue their studies in France. 

The Minister of Higher and University Education, Thomas LUHAKA, after recalling his personal journey of a foreign student, took this opportunity to salute France's commitment in this domain. He addressed the students, strongly recommending France for the quality of its training. 

For its part, the French Ambassador to the DRC, welcomed this initiative and wished to recall "France’s commitment to higher education and integration professional youth issues  in the DRC, emphasizing the social and economic usefulness of this Fair ". "The development of relations with companies present in the DRC to support young people in their employability is part of France's missions in this country ” declared the french Diplomat.

As a reminder, this commitment of France to education and training in the DRC was renewed during the meeting between Presidents Tshisekedi and Macron, at their meeting in Paris on November 13 latest. 

On the occasion of this exhibition, the French Ambassador to the DRC was also able to discuss with the promotion of 34 doctors selected by France for the Specialized Medical Training Diploma (DFMS), open to foreign candidates, doctors of medicine, for a one-year specialization in host hospitals in France. The students present were also able to benefit from guidance advice, during the program "Okapi Services "recorded the same day, live, inside the compound of the French Institute in Kinshasa.
