The France 24 channel arrives on public TNT in Kinshasa
François Pujolas, Ambassador of France in the DRC took part, this Saturday, March 20, 2021, in the launch ceremony of the France 24 television channel on Congolese TNT, in presence of the Minister of State, Minister of Communication and Media, David Jolino Diwampovesa Makelele.
France welcomes this collaboration between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and France Media World, which once again and concretely illustrates the strengthened partnership between our two countries.
"France 24 offers independent information based on debates on ideas, gender equality, secularism and cultural diversity. Thanks to this partnership, the channel will broaden its audience in the DRC, to which it will bring, as RFI does on radio, a direct openness to the world ", welcomed Ambassador François Pujolas.
He also stressed that "this event is the culmination of steps taken
by France 24 for more than 10 years. The digital switchover of the DRC has enabled this
launch, which takes place, symbolically, on this International Francophonie Day and while the DRC, the largest French-speaking country, holds the presidency of the African Union. "
Finally, the ambassador took the opportunity of his presence in the Binza broadcasting center Pigeon to salute the vitality of the television sector in the DRC.
The public TNT offer offers nearly 100 free channels, among which France 24 is available from March 20, 2021.
