The Head of State of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo was received by the Emir of Qatar, Tamim Bin Hamad

The Head of State of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo was received by the Emir of Qatar, Tamim Bin Hamad, this Monday at the princely palace in Doha.

At the end of this meeting, numerous agreements and memoranda of understanding were signed between the DRC and Qatar, in particular in the field of economic, commercial and technical cooperation as well as in that of aeronautical and maritime cooperation.

These agreements relate in particular to: the protection of the massive investments expected between Qatar and the DRC, the modernization and development of airport and port infrastructures as well as the capacity building of Congolese sector experts.

On a working stay, since last Sunday, in Doha, the capital of Qatar, the DRC Head of State, Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo took part in a forum bringing together Congolese and Qatari businessmen.

The Vice-President of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Mohammed Bin Amed thanked the Head of State for opening the DRC to Qatari investments and he expressed the firm desire of the emirate's patronage to invest in different sectors of the economy in the DRC.

The Head of State made an inventory of investments in the DRC, presenting the efforts made to improve the business climate with a view to securing local and foreign investments in all sectors, in particular agriculture, mining and energy.

The Head of State, Congolese Félix-Tshisekedi also visited the Doha airport facilities in order to soak up the management methods and techniques in this area with a view to a transfer of skills to improve the quality of airport management in the DRC.

After the signing of cooperation agreements in the aeronautical sector between the Congolese government through the Régie des Voies Aériennes (RVA) and Qatar Airways, the Head of State made a point of closely observing the various innovations implemented in Doha.
