Continuation of French humanitarian aid in Goma in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo

Due to the crisis situation that the territories located in the eastern part of the DRC have been experiencing for many years, France has reinforced its commitment by sending 70 trunks of medicines (general, pediatric and emergency) which arrived in Goma on October 20, 2024.

France, through the Crisis and Support Center (CDCS) of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, has transported humanitarian cargo for the benefit of the Congolese populations affected by the crisis. The 70 boxes of medicines were provided by the French association Tulipe and given to the NGO partners of the CDCS, Alima, Première Urgence Internationale and the French Red Cross, in order to support Congolese health structures in high demand, in particular through the response to the M-POX epidemic.

France has also provided humanitarian aid of 22 million euros in 2024, intended for the United Nations and NGOs operating in the DRC, to meet the essential needs of the most vulnerable populations in Goma and the surrounding area, such as the access to water and sanitation, food security and nutrition, the fight against maternal and neonatal mortality, as well as aid to displaced people.

France intends to continue to act in support of the populations of the DRC affected by this crisis.
